Friendzone x3

help. so i’ve been friends with this guy since senior year of high school & he kissed me the day before I left for school that’s 3 hours away from home. We decided we couldn’t date bc i would be so far and he’s visited me at school a total of 3 times, each time he’s slept with me and we’ve madeout etc but never did the deed. After we’ve always talked about it and he says we should stay friends and it recently happened a third time. I just wanna know from a different POV as to WHY it keeps happening then and how to ESCAPE the friendzone if possible (M21 and F20)
