Split families

Elizabeth

And by that, I mean in-laws and my family. It’s a huge pain!! In-laws live in Maine, mine in Vermont. Sick of traveling for holidays and trying to make everyone happy. 26 weeks with our baby boy and we’ve only been married a few months but has anyone considered doing a family vacation (my husband, baby and I) on Christmas or thanksgiving rather than do the whole big family gatherings? I want to start new traditions with my small family, but again, am worried about upsetting our parents and siblings.

We don’t have a house, we rent an apartment at the moment until we have enough saved to get pre-approved and start shopping around but we agreed when we get a house we’re staying there for the holidays. We will cook meals for everyone but we won’t be traveling anymore. It’s exhausting!!
