Would you do it again?

Question

For all the mommas that have done a non medicated labor, would you do it again? Or have you done it again? I’m thinking this is the route I wanna go. I know every labor is different but I was wondering what the majority of y’all have done! Feel free to share your experiences in the comments. Please no comments telling me not to do it that way. I respect the way you gave birth so I’d appreciate if you’d respect the way I wanna do it. Thanks mommas 🤗

My first I had the epidural and with my second I was induced but no pain meds. I would 100% go pain med free again. The recovery was so much easier, I was free to labor how I was comfortable, I was able to get up and shower as soon as I was ready. With my first, I had to wait 9 hours post birth for the epidural to wear down. That is a long time to be sitting in bed unable to move at all!!

I had a home birth, drug free, and am planning a second. I honestly can't imagine doing it another way. The worst part for me was the stitch afterward.

I’ve done both and I will never deliver in a hospital again. They pushed so many interventions and caused so much more pain and issues. My natural birth was 20 minutes and very minimal pain and blood. Would only choose to do that again.

I labored without pain meds until I transitioned and then used nitrous gas when it came time to push and that was perfect for me. No epidural, no IV necessary, I was in control of how much gas I was taking in at a time, able to move my body and listen to my instincts when it came time to push. I would definitely do it just that way again. Kudos if you skip the gas as well, but it really is a small measure compared to the rest.

I dilated to 9.5 normal progression one cm per hour.. then didn’t dilate. For about 9 hours i was pushing to get that last lip of cervix. I never cried, never asked for epidural. Your body and hormones aid you. It wasn’t until i was transferred for a stuck baby and got an epidural sill at 9.5 cm that i had a flood of emotions and cried for the first time. My body finally relaxed. I ended with c section. If the baby is in optimal position, head down and posterior, then i will absolutely labor naturally and get epidural after a certain point, certainly no sooner than 7 or 8 cm. Hopefully the midwives can provide emotional support for me to last the full time without. I will be in a hospital setting this time. Hopefully we can avoid c section.

I was induced and it worked very quickly - was back home with a baby 19hrs after I had the pessary in 😂 had nothing up until about 8-9cm, then gas and air for the last bit - would def do the same again, maybe even skip the gas and air if I can have a water birth. It hurt like hell but within the first hour after birth I felt absolutely fine, didn't even hurt downstairs except when I weed, then I remembered the tear lol

I have an 18 month old and an almost 4 month old. Both were unmedicated births. I’m done having kids but if I were to have more I would do it med free as well.

Yes, I would if I were planning to have more kids. I got an epidural with my first labor that ended up failing so I decided to skip all the pain meds the second time because I no longer trusted it to work. It was painful and I definitely remembered why I tried an epidural the first time, but I was able to move around and use the shower to help keep the pain somewhat manageable.
If you want to do it without pain meds, then I do strongly suggest taking some childbirth classes.

I’ve done an epidural birth and a natural. I would never do natural again unless it had to be done. I haven’t forgotten that pain or night and it was 2.5 years ago. I thought I was going to die or pass out. I have a 
Ultra sensitive uterus. Pain come hard and last.
