TMI: home remedies for hemorrhoids

I am 6 months Pp and noticed STH swollen close to my anus. It doesn't hurt nor do I feel it when walking or sitting but I was showering and felt it as I cleaned myself and I knew it wasn't there the day before.

I did have some constipation a few days ago and read it can cause it. I tried steaming as it was the only tip I found. Or I could have it surgically removed. My gyn is on holiday until 7th Jan so I have to deal with it myself. What can I do to make it go away or stop it from increasing in size? Should I pierce it myself? How long does it take for it to heal? Have had it for 2 days now.
