A crib??

Question

We plan on having the baby sleep in our room next to our bed in a bassinet for as long as she fits in it lol. Should we still go ahead and purchase a crib right away? We’ll have a nursery room set up for her still. Or should we just wait for that?

Depending on how big baby is/how fast they develop they wont be in a bassinet long. My son was there for 4 months. They usually say if they can roll over, it's time for a crib. So you have a couple months before you NEED to buy one.

We did with my daughter and we started naps in it around 5 months so while we didn’t need it immediately, it’s nice to have prepped. My this kid, we will probably have it but might not have it set up prior to the baby being born. Poor 2nd kids lol we worked so hard on my daughters room but barely have any time to fix up our spare room for him/her

Bassinets are suuuuper temporary. I honestly wouldn't even bother with buying one. We had a crib in our daughter's bedroom (from the get-go) and a pack n pay in our room. She slept in the pack n play for 6 months and then moved to the crib in her room from there. She's now 2.5 and we still use the pack n play when we travel!

My son is 8months and tall for his age. He still fits in his next to be crib bu the bed. Although we are planning on moving him into his nursery soon because I think we wake him up at night when were moving about the room. He is EBF so it’s handy for me feeding him at night that he’s still right beside my bed.

We set up a crib before my daughter was born. She would not sleep in our room but slept great in her crib. She has been sleeping through the night since she was 3 months

I’m planning on having everything set up right away. I have a friend who’s 4 week old won’t sleep in the bassinet but sleeps great in her crib
