new nexplanon, long period

hello everyone. i just recently got the nexplanon implant, the one that goes in your arm. i know, of course, that it will take my body some time to become used to it (i was previously on the pill) and this is the first period i’ve had on it. my doctor told me that many women have shortened periods/no periods with it, but i’ve now been on my period for 15 days when previously they’ve been 4/5 days :(. once again, i know it’ll take some time to settle but has anyone else had an experience like this? how did you deal with it being so long and how long was it until your period was “normal”? thank you to anyone who has any advice.
