My 1 year old is Violently throwing up and the doctor said don’t bring her in?

Question

So what can I do ? She is only 16 months and she’s been puking all day long! I called her doctor and she said don’t come in unless she gets a fever. What can I give my girl to ease her pain?? She seems really uncomfortable. I gave her crackers to help her stomach , what else can I do ?

I would take her to the emergency room they can give her iv fluids and medicine or stop the vomiting that’s very irresponsible of the Dr to just push her aside she can get severely dehydrated

Pedialyte possibly?  I think the biggest concern would be her getting dehydrated more than anything.  Dry Rice Krispies or any non flavored dry cereal also have done well for me when I'm dealing with a stomach virus.  Might be worth a shot.

If she’s vomiting everything you’re giving her then give her a tablespoon of pedialyte every 15-20 mins. Once she’s able to hold the pedialyte try bits and pieces of solids like crackers. That’s what my pediatrician has recommended and it works. Good luck

Have her drink ***some of the syrup, switch on and off with water. Once shes able to hold that down, give her some of the peaches. The heavy syrup is great for nausea and vomiting.

How many times has she thrown up and in how many hours? Ex: every 30 minutes for the last 6 hours may warrant a visit to the dr to check dehydration.. I wouldn’t rush ER tho. 
Or has she thrown up once an hour for 6 hours? That’s normal and I bet she’s not dehydrated. 
Do not give her any fluids until she has stopped throwing up for at least two hours . Because if you keep giving her fluids while she’s still throwing up then you may be causing her to throw up more and causing dehydration. 
Once she stops vomiting then you can introduce a teaspoon of water every 20 minutes to see if it stays down. And if it does, you can start adding more. 
My 10 year old had a stomach bug last week and threw up every 20 minutes from 9pm-4am and he was fine. Never got a fever and just got fluids in him after vomiting stopped. Sucky bugs going around! Hope she feels better soon!

Honestly, just do your best to keep her hydrated. You can give some Tylenol just for comfort. I wouldn’t take her to ER though. I work in pediatric ER. Unless she is showing signs of dehydration, there’s not really much they can do for a stomach bug. Maybe some Zofran but that’s really it

It's a tummy bug & its super contagious thats why. My entire household just got over this last week. Just offer small amounts of liquids. She probably won't be able to keep them down at first but keep offering.

Hydration is the key. Don’t stress the foods and offer fluids every 30 mins. Ice pops are amazing for here situations. Sounds like dr doesn’t want it spreading . We’ve had dr office say unless we are worried about dehydration or itnlast longer then 24 hours then wait . If you are too worried go to the er. Only you know how bad your child is
