Tips for traveling with an infant?

DH and I just had our first baby on January 7th. There is an event/convention in April he would like us to go too that is 7hrs away. We would stay in a hotel for 2 nights. We would really like to go but I have NO idea how to travel with a baby. She will be 3months at this time. For sleeping, do I need to find a travel bassinet/ pack and play? Other than the obvious essentials (bottles, formula, diapers, wipes, clothes, medicine, carrier) what all else should I take? At this time I’m still on the fence about going. Since I’m a first time mom and have no idea how to travel with a baby, I’d like to know what everyone suggests and everything I am missing before I make my decision. Any tips or lists of things to pack would be great.
