Speeding ticket in Georgia

About a month ago I got a speeding ticket. I lost my actual paper ticket so I've been trying to figure out where I needed to call in order to figure out how much to pay since I was between counties.

Well I finally found out how much I have to pay and it's a whopping $525..

I am absolutely blown away by how much it is. I've asked friends and coworkers who have gotten speeding tickets how much their ticket was and they ranged about $200 to $300.

The officer who pulled me over said that I was going 76 in a 55 but I do not believe that to be true. I don't have time to fight it nor do I see any point in it. I want to avoid probation and freely just want to know if anybody else has gotten a ticket like this.
