Why would anyone be against having a camera watching their baby sitters. There are so many crazy bitches out there these days that have been caught abusing children on cameras

I am against them in that I would never use one - if I don’t trust someone or don’t know them well, I don’t leave my kids with them. I don’t like the idea of spying on or monitoring someone, that just feels really weird to me.

To each their own! My son’s baby monitor connects to my phone through an app, so when any movement or noise is in his room I’ll get an alert. When mine and my husbands mom’s are watching him and he’s not at daycare while I’m at work, I can check up on him. It’s not that I don’t trust them, I just miss him and feel guilty because I want to be the one watching him (yes I know grandma time is good and important, I just feel like I’m missing out). My coworkers make fun of me all the time, but hey.. everyone is different.

I would tell the nanny if you have cameras set up. I once had this job nannying where I would have to change my shirt in the living room next to the baby quite often because she would spit up on me a lot. I didn’t go to the bathroom because I was home alone with the baby. 
Later on I found out they had cameras set up (with microphones too) that the husband could watch at any point on his phone from work. I had absolutely no idea about this so I quit because I felt super uncomfortable that the husband was watching and listening to me without my knowledge and 100% saw me with no shirt on several times.

I understand the point “why would I leave my kid with someone I don’t trust?”. But unfortunately, that’s a luxury not everyone has. I trust my babysitter 100%, but if I didn’t and that was my only option and HAD yo work, I definitely wouldn’t be against one.
