Scared to over eat?!?

I am 8 weeks along I have a 7 year old and gained 59 lbs with her! I've since lost the weight but I'm obsessing over my weight gain this time ?

It's so encouraging to hear I'm not the only one worried about the weight! It's such an amazing time creating a baby but I will be careful I've been staying within 1800 calories a day and doing moderate exercise at least 5 days a week! I've gained 3lbs and I'm 9 weeks so I hope this healthy progress continues ? good luck to the other beautiful mamas out there

Hi Antoinette, i am scared of the same thing, especially i havent had much nausea and all that, so I feel like eating more often tha before. Then due to my backpain and fatigue I havent done much sport either. I guess we just need to find more creative ways to eat more vegies rather than meat and fruit instead of sweets. When the first trimester finishes i'll try to swim more and walk and do pregnancy yoga. And in the end, you lost it once, you will lose it again! Be positive!

I gained 70 lbs with my son so I know what u mean. I'm so scared to do it again. I lost it all the first time but that was a while ago (7yrs) when I was still in my 20s. I'm sure it won't b as easy to lose the weight this time so I know I have to b more careful. I'm on the right  track as I haven't gained any weight yet (mostly due to how sick I am, not self control but I guess I'll take what I can get!) at 10wks. The hardest thing I think is the increase in appetite so I know as soon as the nausea and vomiting go away I will have to really watch myself. Also I'm gonna try to exercise throughout this pregnancy to help stay in better shape.

Just count calories every day no matter what and keep it in the 1500-2000 range.  Weight gain is all up to you.  Surround yourself with positive people and stay optimistic.

​Lots of people lose weight during pregnancy and it's fine as well.  If you gain a lot in the first tri, just lose it in the second tri after your morning sickness wears off.  It's all about eating a reasonable amount of food.  There is no harm in gaining very little or even losing some.

​The recommended ranges are pretty extreme.  Most of my thin friends gain 10-15lb and most of my average friends gain 5-10lb.  The whole 25-35lb thing is kindof harsh on the body....how could you not feel horrible, swollen and immobile?  They tell you to gain weight so you can support breast  feeding, I personally would rather eat more when breast feeding, not several months prior.

I gained 28 lbs with my first and 30 lbs with my second. I was really thin then too, which scares me because I weigh much more now than I did then. I dont want to gain too much weight with this one!! Gonna try to stay as active as possible during this pregnancy. We shall see.

I gained 85 with my son... And I'm only 11 weeks and have already gained 14lbs! I swear I'm not overrating! In fact when I do eat it's like I ate south and feels like it takes so long to digest.. But I didn't eat much at all! It's like I get preggo and my body just balloons!!!! I don't wanna focus too much on it... It's my last pregnancy... But it's very hard not to!!

I AM 5 MONTHS AND 2 WEEKS PREGNANT. I GAINED 100lbs with MY FIRST SON. HE IS NOW 10YRS OLD... I LOST 168LBS. AND PREGNANT NOW... PRE PREGNANCY I WAS 174. I BOUNCE BETWEEN 179 and 182. I DONT WANT TO GAIN WEIGHT EITHER. SO I EAT SMALL FREQUENT MEALS. ALOT OF VEGGIES, SALADS, FRUITS, AND I LOVE SALMON AND BAKED CHICKEN WINGS. I JUST PORTION. EVEN IF I CRAVE POPEYES I DONT EAT IT ALL. A PIECE OR TWO AND EAT IT WITH VEGGIES. AND WALK. I HAVE A FITBIT. AND IM IN A DAILY AND WEEKLY STEP CHALLENGE. YOU WILL DO GREAT.
