Peanut allergy

Nicole

We had been giving out little guy peanut butter since 6 months and over Presidents’ Day he had a reaction (bad rash and hives) we didn’t think it was peanut butter because he had had it! Urgent care said it probably wasn’t food because he didn’t throw up.

Pediatrician sent us to allergist and they confirmed severe peanut allergy and he’s only 8 months. Peanut allergy is one they typically don’t grow out of.....

I wish someone would have said that they can react at anytime, even after being exposed. I thought we were “safe” and had been giving him peanut butter and putting him down for naps. I’m super glad we know now but wanted to share this with everyone. He had a reaction almost 2 hours after we gave him peanut butter puffs.

Any other moms that have kiddos with a peanut allergy? Any advice?
