What age would you start potty training your child?

Even though I have a whole other child, she is 11 years old half the things I did with her when she was a baby and what age etc I can't remember. My son is 2 in May he is very clever and picks things up really easily once he has seen it done. What age do you think is ideal to start potty training even if it is just to get him used to using the potty. If he has a poo he will come and tell me he has and sometimes he will even walk over to me with a nappy and his wipes so I think he would understand if I tried to potty train.

Start whenever hes showing signs of being ready

When they should signs of readiness: 
Staying dry for at least 2 hours
Interest in potty/ toilet
Asking to be changed 
Able to pull up and down pants 
Working in a toddler to I've found most show signs around 2.5 but some are ready sooner and some need more time. It definitely goes faster and smoother if they're ready though!

Honestly I tried when my daughter “showed the signs” at 2 but it didn’t go over well. Right before she turned 3 she told me she had to go potty and boom just like that she was potty trained. Letting her tell me made it so easy. We had zero accidents.

The later the better. So many parents are in a rush to start early, I think partly so they can say their child was potty trained by X age. But I’ve found the longer you wait, the quicker a more easy the process is. 
I just read a post from a mum that started potty training at 1.5 and is still potty training a year later. I know many friends who’ve been on the same situation as her. We waited until our daughter was over 2.5 and she was completely accident free within a week

Whenever he’s ready. Some kids are ready at 2, some at 3, some closer to 4.

When they show the signs. My daughter happened to be ready and was showing the signs before her second birthday by the time she was 2 she was in underwear during the day time and diapers at night time only. She is almost 2.5 now.

I started my son at 5 months.

Started my daughter at 10 months. She did well for a week and then all of a sudden refused. We’re back in diapers and waiting for a sign she’s ready 🤷🏼‍♀️
