Lactose intolerant? How to know?

Hi ladies, do any of you have any children that are lactose intolerant?

What signs did you notice? How?

Etc etc.........

I have a 17month old son and im assuming he may be.

1. He literally poops alllll day!!! Im not even exaggerrating. Atleast 5-6 poop diapers a day. And they are all mushy poops (tmi sorry)

2. He is a super picky eater!!! So I dont understand how he has so much to poop when its so hard to get him eat a decent meal. He still only drinks bottle, i give him whole milk.

I explained to a friend and she brought up him being lactose int.

And yes i know i should take him to dr. But my situation right now i have a co-pay every drs visit. So im hoping i can get an idea from other moms, first.
