Transgender?

Hi guys! I’m not really around people that consider themselves as transexual, so I have a few questions because I support the LGBTQA+ mouvement, I don’t have hatred towards anyone I just don’t have any knowledge about it. How can a person born with a penis feel like a woman and a person born with a vagina feel like a man? I have heard that people feel more masculine/ don’t feel right in their bodys etc but how can you feel like a man or woman? I don’t even know myself how it is to feel like a woman and I am a cisgender woman. I’m genuinely curious and would like to get educated because it’s easy to have misconceptions if you have no knowledge about something. Thanks a lot! Please be respectful in the comments.

try to put yourself in their shoes. imagine waking up tomorrow morning and you had boxy shoulders, more hair, a penis, a deep voice, etc and everyone called you Robert and referred to you as he/him. how would it make you feel? you don’t have to understand it completely in order to respect it, but transgender people literally have the wrong brain inside their body. medically, transgender people’s brains literally align more closely with their gender than their birth sex (i.e. MTF women have a brain closer to that of a female than a male and vise versa). its not just that they’re more masculine/feminine. i t’s not just that they “feel” like they’re the opposite gender. they literally are.

I’m a trans masculine person. I identify as non-binary but originally came out as a trans guy (born female). I couldn’t tell you the definition of what makes a man a man or a woman a woman because I don’t feel like either. I want facial hair, deep voice and sometimes I want a penis but at the same time, I am okay with what is under my belt. However, it’s hard for me to say it because I felt a disconnect for so long. I still dress like a man and a woman, so people get confused on what I am. I don’t care because I’m not hurting anyone. Personally I just know I would prefer being on testosterone than without, even if I’m socially a woman. I say it that way because not everyone sees more than two genders.

You said something really perceptive there, that you don’t know how it feels to be a woman and you are a cisgender woman.
I’m a trans guy (assigned female at birth). I’ve been asked by a lot of people (family, friends, medical professionals, myself) how I know that I am a man, how I define gender, or what a man even is.
And honestly? I don’t know. I just know that I like to be called “he,” I’d like to have a beard one day, and I like that now that I’m on testosterone I have a deeper voice. When I wear a yarmulke (Jewish head covering that’s traditionally male), that’s unexplainably more fitting that a tichel (a Jewish women’s head scarf)— and I simply feel like I’m myself. 
It’s not that I hated being a woman or wearing women’s clothes, but it’s just not who I am, so it was very uncomfortable and I felt like a fraud. I guess everyone has been in some situation or another in which everyone else around them assumed they were a different person than they really feel on the inside. *shrugs*

So think of it this way. 
I'm a trans man and sometimes its not about being born in the wrong body. Some things don't fit, they don't feel right. I have a larger chest and I wish it was gone. Would it be cool to have a penis? Sure, I have no reservations or anything towards having one, but I have no strong urge to go get surgery for one either.
