Giving birth question for FTM

Hey ladies so I have a question and it might be silly but I'm a FTM and am just curious. Natural birth or c-section!? Since this is my first child can I opt to just have a c-sextion? I know if you've had one prior you can opt to have another. I'm considered high risk and have been told by my OB at the first appt that they typically take babies, from a mom with type 1 diabetes, a week or two early. So I'm wondering if they will give me the option for c-section or simply just induce me?? Thank in advance!!
