Child tax benefits in Canada
My son was born in June 2019, so while my fiancé and I were filing our income tax at H&r block we also filled out a form to change or marital status to common law, this was our first year doing our taxes together.
We both got an okay amount back so that was relieving but I’m worried the CRA may tax my child tax now that we’re common law
Has anyone lose their child tax after becoming common law or did you get less money? I live in Nova Scotia is that helps any, he is a licensed practical nurse (working casual) and I’m a licensed esthetician (although I have been on mat leave since June so I’m not making much money)
