Coronavirus Concerns
I have a bit of a dilemma. I work in manufacturing and we are considered a critical function, so we are not shutting down due to coronavirus concerns. I work with about 600+ people every day. My boss originally said he and I were going to alternate days working from home, but now he plans to work from home 5 days a week because he has a high risk infant daughter.
My understanding is that the CDC doesnt have definitive information on whether being pregnant and getting COVID-19 poses any serious risks to mother or fetus, but I know my immune system is suppressed because I’m pregnant and a respiratory illness will most likely be much more severe for me. I also know if I end up with a fever, which presents with coronavirus infection, it can cause harm to my unborn child. I’m only 8 weeks pregnant and haven’t told my boss yet, but I’m starting to feel like I need to discuss this with him and with HR. Thoughts?
