How do you entertain a newborn?

My baby is 7 weeks old, I’m a ftm. Sometimes I’m not sure what to do with her. She’s starting to stay up more now during the day, her naps aren’t long. I put her on a play mat, swings, but they only last so long. Then she cries. I feel like I need to constantly find something to do, and hard to concentrate on anything else in between.

At 7 weeks baby just loves the sound of your voice and your smell. Not much entertainment needed.

I used to read stories, talk, show her around the house and tell her what i was doing.. i was home alone with her.. so i would tell her everything haha she loved sitting outside when she was that little the sounds kept her intrested..

My daughter is 21 mo and I still feel like I need to constantly find things to do to entertain her 🤦‍♀️
For real though, when my daughter was a newborn, we took a lot of walks.

Just cuddle and talk to her at this stage. If she’s crying she also may be tired if she’s not sleeping during the day (at this stage they are supposed to sleep a ton still)
