Reschedule Wedding???

So we plan on getting married this October, after everything going on with the world and for financial reasons we want to downsize our wedding by a lot or elope to Colorado(I live in Texas)...my dad isn’t very happy with the eloping idea but everyone else seems to be supportive...What are your thoughts?????? Did you Elope? Did you regret it? Did you have a small wedding???

I don’t have personal experience, but most of the people I know who have had big weddings have said if they could do it again, they’d do a smaller one.

We eloped last weekend in Tennessee. We had already planned and paid for everything before the virus outbreak. I wouldn't change eloping. No stress of planning the big day. Literally just the two of us, the minister, and the photographer.

I would never elope, I personally just hate that idea. My parents did it though and they loved it. So it just depends on what you and your spouse want.

we currently are inviting over 200 people. however, we might have to downsize come november. OR we will still get married and wait to have the big party until fall 2021 :)

Huge wedding first marriage, too overwhelming. Second marriage....eloped in the mountains of Georgia and loved it.

We had a small wedding (40 people) and it was awesome. I say we had a wedding and a fancy dinner party and I honestly it couldn’t have went any better. We were so so happy with how everything turned out - and we did all the decorations ourselves. We wanted a small affordable wedding :)

Ours will be 40 due to coronavirus we have rescheduled to next year

We had a small wedding ceremony  (maybe 50) and then a close family dinner after. I wouldn’t change it at all, however, consider if you go through with whatever choice you make will you be settling or eventually feel like you missed out on something? For me I would have hired a professional photographer, had a video made and somehow danced with my dad.
