Would you automatically send the money?

Question

So on average I'm always buying food for the house. I don't drive so I'll do an online shop every once in a while and then I'm buy things here and there. Well now I'm self isolating at home my partner has to do all the shopping, he's actually been buying food we need. Usually he comes back with junk food. Anyway I was going to give him some money upwards the shopping, but then I remembered I always fork out the money myself. I mean I never spend more than I have and I'm assuming he wouldn't either. 
Should I just contribute in some way even though he never does?

In our house, whoever goes shopping is the one who buys it. That goes for groceries, new tires, a prescription, a baby toy, etc. we are also fortunate enough to not really need to budget. So no, I wouldn’t give him any money. But you guys should probably discuss this since we don’t know your financial situation.

Are you saying he doesnt contribute as in he doesnt pay any bills or help with food? 
Or that normally you cover food and he does other bills?

I’m a SAHM and I do all the shopping and use our joint account from my husbands pay check, luckily we don’t have to budget. But before our kids I always paid for the groceries with my paycheck or if we ate out or something like that. But if my husband went to the store without me he would just use his debit card.

I’m in the same boat, sort of. I buy groceries, and my husband would buy takeout, pay the tab at a restaurant and pay for things here and there for the house at say Home Depot. We split the rest of our expenses 50/50. Quarantine has shifted expenses so it’s not as even this past month
