Meeting the parents

Oh boy

So I never thought I’d be asking this question but my boyfriend is going to meet my parents soon. I’m close family so they want to meet him and I’d live for him to get to know them and he is down to meet them as well. The only thing is, is that my parents hate tattoos and he has a whole sleeve. I don’t want him to hide who he is but I also want my parents to meet him and to get to know him a few times before he maybe shows off his arm so that way they don’t judge him so quickly.

Honestly I think even if they saw it there’s a good chance that they might not say anything because he is a great guy and I know they will see that, but is it fair of me to pose the question if he’s comfortable with wearing long sleeves in front of them for the first couple times or not? I think it would reduce some drama and initial scandal. I want him to make the choice, but is that ok to ask the question ? Is that offensive?

I think asking might be out of line, is it?
