Relationship ADVICE. WHAT SHOULD I SAY??

Hello everyone need alil advice on what I should do in this situation...

So my sons father and I broke up 2 years ago. We both got together very young I was 17 he was 19. I'm now 23 and hes 25.

We're both single and communicate very well. He always tells me he wish he was the man he Is now to me back then he just didnt want to hurt me and he wanted to be fully committed to me and we wouldnt have never broke up. I never say anything. I dont know if it's a pride thing or what I just say oh okay things happen. But we dont talk as much I try to keep things about my son and very coridal. We havent had sex in a very long time almost 7 months.

He will tell me out the blue alot that he loves me and misses me alot I will say it back but never allowed him to really come back I guess.

But now were both single and I always wanted to get back with him. I just felt like I had alot of growing to do as a woman and so he did.

So what should I text him and how should I approach him?

I dont wanna come off to desperate which I'm not I just simply want to give this another shot now that we're older & more mature and our son is almost 3 now. I really would like to my family back and see how this goes.
