Is young marriage ok? Should I get married at 18?

My boyfriend and I are 18 and have been dating for 16 months. I love him so much and I know hes the man I'm going to marry. We have talked about it before and we are definitely ready for this commitment, however, he lives at home untill graduation and his parents might not be ok with our engagement. They love me and I'm there all the time I even went on vacation with his family, we just dont know how they would react.

Get married for the right reasons. You have to both be financially ready, be sure you truly know each other, and ensure this isn’t something that you feel pressured into by society. If you are doing it to repair a relationship, that is a huge red flag. Just make sure your intentions and expectations align. I know that at 18, it seems like a great idea and a new adventure...but if you have any qualms whatsoever, it is better to address them as a dating couple than a married one.

Do what makes you happy. But I was with my ex for 3 years by the time I was 18 and we talked about it so much even down to my engagement ring. He ended up cheating and breaking up with me. Again, do what makes you happy. But really think it through first.

Honestly 16 months isn’t that long. If you know he’s the one for you, there’s no rush to get married. Personally I would wait several years. Make sure you’re financially stable, etc

In the end, its your guys decision. I’ve learned that even as an adult people will say this or not but at the same time it’s your choice to make the call. Everyone has different opinion on marriage being too early but if you deep down know he’s the one for you then why not! 😃
