Quarantine breakup

Me and my boyfriend have been together a year and a half and we live together. I’m 30 he’s 26.

During December we had a lot of issues due to him speaking to his ex. Just before the lockdown announcement when things were getting serious with the virus he spoke to his ex again. Granted they weren’t conversations on a romantic level but he promised that he wouldn’t speak to her again. So now I’ve lost trust in him and he hasn’t really worked to prove to me that I can trust him.If anything he’s made me feel guilty because things haven’t gone back to the way they were.

Now unfortunately for him his grandma passed away whilst we were in lockdown and prior to this his grandad passed away a month before. So he has his own issues to deal with which I feel so bad for. But all these issues has completely ruined our relationship.

I try to set aside my emotions to comfort him but he took it is so us being back together when I told him that I can’t forget without resolving the issues he completely shut down there now we are living in silence together. Cohabiting. It is so uncomfortable.

So we been doing this for the past three weeks. barely uttering a sentence to each other. But the last couple of days he made me breakfast in bed before I could even say thank you he was straight out the door to the next room and completely ignored everything I had said before and continued for the rest of the coming days. Lool. It comes across a bit childish? I don’t know…

I’m so confused it’s making me miserable because every time I try to talk to him to make this less uncomfortable he completely ignores me but still make some breakfast what is this behaviour?? I tried talking to him to make sure that he was okay and try to offer some support again but he completely pushed me away and ignored me pretended like he was fine and dismissed my question. how do I have a conversation with someone like that?

I’m conflicted I’m still really angry and hurt by his actions but I still feel for his situation. I just don’t want to be in this anymore. How do I handle this??
