Extended time between sex

So my boyfriend and I use to have sex quite often. That has diminished into once a month or less.

He is a very large male and I am fairly petite. These extended periods make sex painful each time we do it. I feel like it takes me 15 min of working things around to get comfortable.

When I pee afterwards there is a little bit of blood from what feels like the stretching.

Is this normal? I never had an issue with pain when it was at a high frequency but now it takes so long to get comfortable each time!
