How to get rid of a smell out of second hand clothes?

Question

A lady who I live near was selling a massive bundle of baby clothes ALL NEW WITH TAGS but they really smell. 
I don’t know what of, id like to say maybe a curry /spice smell ( not to be racist or anything ) 
I’ve washed them and tumble dryer them but they still smell. 
Any tips?

We cloth diapers and I use Rockin Green Diaper enzyme. I know it's not the same but if it can get the smell of cat pee out of fabric, I figure it's worth a try. (Only thing I've ever found that can clean away the smell of cat pee!) 
If it doesn't work, you could always set it aside to use on baby clothes when blow outs happen or to clean away spit up.

Wash them with a detergent designed for like active wear (I think tide makes one) 
Also use the downy scent boosters, downy fabric softener, and bounce dryer sheets
If that doesn’t work you can try the Lysol laundry sanitizer

You could try stripping them. You toss them in the bathtub for a few hours with 1/2 cup powder laundry detergent, 1/4 borax, 1/4 cup washing soda in hot water. Then you put them in the wash on a regular cycle.

I found that if I just washed the second hand clothes by themselves they would still smell of the other person but if I wash them with our clothes mixed in they then smelled like our clothes.
