After a miscarriage wondering when to start trying again?

I was told I could have sex again two weeks after my miscarriage. I feel physically and emotionally ready to try conceiving again and have heard that you are very fertile right after. However, the doctor recommended waiting until after at least one normal cycle. Have any of you heard otherwise from your doctor or why it may or may not be necessary?

I had a MC in October and my period got back only in December. There’s no point in TTC before your period gets back on track. BUT, my fertility doctor asked to not TTC on this first ovulation after the MC because of the cervix sensibility and he also said the chances of another MC were high in this situation. So we skipped the first cycle and started to try again from the second one after MC.

Each doctor is different. I have heard both options. My gyno said to wait a full cycle, partly so you have a baseline for if you get pregnant again (if you get pregnant after a miscarriage what counts as your LMP?), the other part was to be 100% sure all tissue is gone and that your cervix is completely closed up again. If your cervix is still open two weeks after the miscarriage it is possible to get an infection from your partner. Pretty low chance but my gyno was worried about it.
