Teething. Gums swollen for a few days then back to normal??

My little one has been had a tooth coming in for a while. Drooling constantly m, chewing on everything ect..last week I thought it was cutting because it looked pretty red and swollen. But today it looks fine is this normal for teething? Confused as to why they were so swollen if the tooth isn’t cutting.

At 9m we were told my son's gums were so swollen he'd get a tooth any day  finally, at 12m a single tooth finally popped through. At 15m we were told that a bunch were coming in at once and that's why he was having such bad symptoms. A month and a half later 2 came in. Just 2. Some kids are just really slow teethers.

Sadly, teeth troll the hell out of both baby and parents. The book told me it would take like 3 days for a tooth to come through. HA! Try a month of almost almost almost, swollen gums, night waking, pain, general suffering... then within 24 hours it breaks through and everything’s fine (until the next one). 🙈

They can move around under the gums a bit before they actually pop through. Totally normal

Teeth move and stop move and stop so that’s probably what’s going on.  My sons did that for about 4 months before the first ones finally cut.

Very normal, they go up and down again.
