I'm absolutely livid with my friends.

So my birthday was a couple days ago. My husband and I dont always go all out for our birthdays. It really just depends on what we have going on financially. Some years we will take trips and some years we will just watch movies in our pajamas all day. It honestly never mattered to either of us.

This year on my birthday I came home to work to a spotless house and a beautiful home cooked meal and a homemade cake from he and my step children. I was over the moon. Just ecstatic to spend time with the people I love and be fully relaxed.

Lastnight I went to dinner with my friends and I told them about my birthday evening because I was happy about it. I was absolutely disgusted with their responses.

Basically one of my friends said "so he couldnt even pick you up flowers and a card?" And at first I didnt know how to respond and before I could the other friend chimed in with "what a loser. What kind of person doesnt get his own wife a birthday gift" and the first friend then said "we were talking and we think you should leave him. He never shows he appreciates you, he never takes you anywhere or buys you anything."

I didnt feel I needed to defend myself or my husband. I just stood up and said "well since you think I deserve so much I'm sure you guys dont mind paying for this dinner" and I walked out and left. Idk if I should even speak to them again. I dont honestly want to. I feel like that would be like giving them permission to disrespect my husband.

I just need to add that my husband does pay child support so I do have more money than him. That being said he still pays for 50% of everything. He also cleans the house regularly, probably more often than I do. Cooks dinner EVERY SINGLE NIGHT. Like I appreciate him so much for all that he does. I dont need his money. This just really upset me.

I'd also like to add they know how much he does for me.
