I just caught my 7 year old nephew hugging my 3 year old daughter on the bed.
And my nephew is not a hugger. They ran off and were alone for under a minute so I know the only thing that happened was that hugging. He had pulled her on top of him and they were rolling around a little. When I told him that wasn’t appropriate, he said he ‘wasn’t kissing her or anything’. This makes me think he has an idea that this was not allowed. I explained to both of them that hugging on the bed or where there are no adults is NOT appropriate and they can only hug while standing and around other people. She will never leave my sight when he’s around again. I told my brother that he needs to have a talk with my nephew since I don’t want to over or under explain why this isn’t right. As for my daughter, she knows that no one is allowed to touch her private parts and she told me that my nephew did not touch her. I told her that she is not allowed to be in the room alone with my nephew too, but I don’t know if I should say more to her about this or what. I’m not even sure how to tell my husband at this point when he gets home from work. Any ideas?
