Anyone in Navy??

Question

Are there any women in here who are in the navy? I recently found out about the aviation rescue swimmer role and it sounds super interesting to me. Can anyone give me some info on what life is like either specifically as a Navy rescue swimmer or just life in the navy in general? 
How long are you typically away from your family each year? I’ve read online that the rescue swimmers typically have a 36 months at sea and 36 months on shore rotation. Are you really away from your family for a full 3 years???

Hi, I am not in the Navy but my husband is active duty now for 13 years. He made chief last fall. So he has 4 years on sea duty and 3 years on shore. 
During the sea duty you can be called to deployment anytime, which can be weeks or months. The longest straight time for him was 9 months and it is usually about that. His last year on sea duty, when we started to date he did 30 days than 3.5 months 4 weeks break than another 3.5 months. So it is unpredictable when you are on seaduty.

Im sorry, I dont have any advice, just following to see the replies. I also want to join the AIRR program in the navy and im curious 😇 
Apparently its a really hard program with intensive training, my recruiter told me it would be a 3-4 year minimum of training and schooling and 3 year minimum for sea duty. Its a lot of work, but theres something about humanitarian acts that makes feel good and happy you know?
