Do you think it’s right that a counsellor would say this?
So my fiancé started counselling over the phone last week. He was supposed to have his second session this week.
The counsellor started the call with some sort of assessment consisting of questions such as do you feel like hurting yourself in the last week etc.
He answered no to these sort of questions and basically said “ok we’re done then” after five mins on the phone. She said you seem perfectly fine to me and the people I speak to are suicidal... they are supposed to offer six sessions.
I had counselling with the same company before he started but with a different counsellor, and I can’t imagine the counsellor I had ever saying something like this to me he was very thorough. I was not suicidal when I had counselling either but it’s not just for people having them thoughts..?
I just find the attitude his counsellor had a bit concerning. Like what if he had have been plucking up the courage to say something really important or whatever and she just kind of dismissed him.
I just can’t see a good counsellor ever saying that.
