Empty sac

I’m 6 weeks 5 days. I started bleeding today, brown then red. No cramping. Called my doctor and they told me to come in as soon as I could. I was supposed to have an US next week but they wanted me to come on in. Did a vaginal ultrasound and my gestational sac is empty, no heartbeat, nothing. She said I could be having a MC but won’t know for sure until she sees my lab work from today and I go for more labs on Friday and another US on Tuesday. Completely heartbroken. We’ve been trying for over a year and this was our first pregnancy. Has this happened to anyone else and it ended up being okay? She was answering all my questions and left nothing out but I honestly feel like i don’t remember anything she said because I was so focused on the word “miscarriage”. TIA!
