Breastfeeding and exhaustion.

I haven't had much success breastfeeding my older children so this is essentially my first time. Is it common to feel far more tired while breastfeeding? My beautiful baby girl is 1week and 1day old and I have never felt this tired after any of the others. I have had a total of 7 babies now and every time I ask a doctor a question the only response I get is "you've had so many everything gets worse the more you have" which really isn't helpful. I'm just so tired all the time.
