Serious question when is it just absolutely absurd to keep calling your child by months instead of years?

After age 2. It sounds silly after 1 to someone who doesn't have kids. But there's a vast difference developmentally between a 12 month old, 18 month old, 22 month old etc. After age 2, the big milestones slow down.

Anything over 18 months seems ridiculous to me.
I once saw a post on here an the woman said her son was 36 months old. 🤦🏼‍♀️

I think until 18 months but should definitely stop at 2 years old. Developmentally there’s a big difference between 12 months and 15 months. Or 12 months and 18 months even though technically they’re all 1 year old.

Honestly if someone asks me in the grocery store how old they are, I'd just say 1, 1.5, etc. I'd only be more specific with a pediatrician or family who asked.

My daughter is 22 months. I usually say she is 1.5 or I say she will be 2 in a few months.

I think for casual conversation it should stop at 18 months. Nobody needs an exact age when making small talk or polite conversation. If the talk is about development then months are acceptable.
