Is it okay to report someone’s racist (public) social media posts to their employer?

I’m sorry if this has been posted before

I saw a racist/violent post by someone on Facebook (saying “fuck George Floyd, I’ll run over protestors, etc.). So I made a status asking how to report someone to their employer. People starting commenting on how that’s a fucked up thing to do, I’m taking bread out of someone’s mouth, you’re doing this all over a difference of opinion, calling me a bitch, comments like that.

So I’d like to pass the question off to y’all: do you think it’s wrong or right to report racist posts to a person’s employer? Why/why not?
