getting off birth control

so i started taking birth control about 1 year ago cause of really irregular periods but i noticed it started making me really depressed it affected my mood and overall mental health my sister even had the same problem and decided to stop taking hers so three days ago i made the decision to stop taking it now i was supposed to get my period the 27th but today i woke up with bad cramps and noticed i was bleeding is this my period or just withdrawal bleeding ?
