My induction story
Paisly Beverly is here!!
8lbs 11oz
19 inches
Born at 6:39pm
06-22-20

We went in for our scheduled induction on Monday the 22nd at 7:30am. They didn’t do anything to start the process until 9am when I got my IV. Then we had to wait for the on call to give her orders on what we were going to do. 10am they came in and started pitocin and at 10:30am the dr came in to break my water. I was already 3cm and 50% effaced. Hubby and I played cribbage until about 1:30-2pm when I decided that it was time for an epidural. They checked me at 450pm and I was at 5cm. Around 5:30 my epidural decided it didn’t want to work anymore and they called the anesthesiologist and they said to give me a bolis and see if that helped. So they did that and it faint do anything. At that same moment babies heart rate was dipping really low during contractions. The dr came in at 5:45pm to put on an internal monitor and checked me and I was still at a 5 but 100% effaced. 6:15pm the contractions got really really bad and my epidural still wasn’t working. All of a sudden I felt a ton of pressure and I needed to push. They put my feet up and it was time to push. This is my 3rd baby and with the other 2 I got the epidural and it worked the entire time!! So this time I had to go natural since nothing was working. Holy crap the burning was intense and I was yelling and screaming. The dr got in my face and told me that if I wanted it to stop I had to push. Well she was stuck. The dr was pulling on her and they had 2 nurses pushing on the top of my stomach while I pushed. The cord was wrapped around her neck twice and her body once. The Dr called for NICU to come in and another 5 min of pushing and she came out. She was beyond blue and wasn’t breathing so they took her to the table and after the longest 10min of my life she finally cried. I was freaking out and balling asking if she was ok and no one was saying anything.. man it was so scary but she is doing fantastic now!! I had 2 stitches and have had a much faster recovery and way less bleeding this time!! I don’t know if it’s because it’s my 3rd or what but I’m loving it!! Big sisters are loving having her around way more than I thought they would!!! Thank you all so very for all of your support during these last 9 months and I really hope that we all will stay connected!!
