I’m so peeved! What to do?
****update****
So I didn’t even have to say anything! His daughter came over to help with the lemonade stand and he walked over to buy a cup and he goes “ah crap looks like I broke your thing. I’ll fix it or replace it, I’m sorry!”
Hurray for anxiety over human interactions😂
A couple weeks ago, my husband let our neighbor borrow our brand new pop up canopy for work. He said he would return it after the weekend, and we had to go ask for it back a week and a half later. We didn’t need it until then, so it wasn’t a big deal.
Well I just went to set it up for my girls to have a lemonade stand and it’s broken! One of the sides is completely mangled. One good gust will break it for sure. It’s up for now, but I imagine it won’t last long.
Now if they were good friends or family I would call them out and say hey replace it! But they’re our neighbors- whose kids are my kids best friends. We are friendly, but don’t hang out or anything. They drink all the time, I’m pretty sure he smiles pot (I’m not knocking it, just saying), and they yell and fight a lot!
So do I say something and risk him being belligerent about it (it’s a $100 canopy).
Or not say anything and deal with it so our kids still play and stuff?
I really feel there’s no way he didn’t know it was broken upon returning it to us. So I think he’s just hoping we wouldn’t notice?
Sorry if this seems stupid, confrontation gives me anxiety and I legit don’t know how to handle it.
Also I wasn’t sure where to post this 😬 sorry!
