COVID precautions?

How careful are you all being with COVID? I have seen family and friends, gone to the stores, even gotten a pedicure. All things that feel low risk to me. Last weekend, I didn't go to my niece's baby shower because I didn't know many of the people who would be there (I was also sick and awaiting COVID test results). This weekend, my SIL is throwing a 4th/ birthday party and then she is having a sprinkle on July 12th. Am I being too cautious by not wanting to go? I just feel that it would be irresponsible to place myself and baby in harms way. Thoughts?

I wouldnt risk it in the US. If you do get covid and test pos at birth you'll have to bring alone and be quarentined away from your baby for 2 weeks or until you test neg.

I think it really depends on where you live. 
I actually think family/friends gatherings are more dangerous than the other things you named as people are less likely to wear masks and more likely to be in close contact with multiple households. I personally would not go. I know other people feel differently. 
I’d rather just send a gift and know that I’m not exposing myself to potentially getting sick.

I’m in mass so we are one of the few US states that are trending in the right direction. Since early June I have gone shopping and to pick up food (my husband did it prior to that). Since then, I have gotten a pedicure, gotten my hair done, ect. I always wear a mask, try to stay at least 6 feet away and sanitize my hands. I have also seen immediate family inside and outside. I plan to keep it this way unless the numbers start to spike and then I’ll go back to being more cautious. I truly didn’t think it was healthy for me or my 3 year old to be in complete isolation for 4 plus months, so I’m taking precautions but willing to risk it a bit !

We barely go out, we’re in the uk. As I’m pregnant with pre existing medical conditions I’m shielding and have been since March and have been told to remain shielding(staying indoors) until August. 
Sadly we lost my Nan who was shielding (not going out) in April. 
Since then. We’ve really locked down our hygiene. If I go out, to appointments. I constantly hand sanitise then when we get home we all have baths/ showers and our clothes are straight in the wash, on high temp. Shoes sprayed with dettol. All keys, phones, wallets sanitised.y partner does the same every evening when he gets home from work. We haven’t had any visitors. 
Losing my Nan really made us realise we don’t know how this Covid thing is being transmitted as she never went out, and shopping was delivered to door. Which makes us believe it must have been the person delivering the shopping or the shopping that gave it to her 🤷‍♀️. X

SO‘s coworkers threw him a diaper shower and we had to keep it a secret because his family and friends made it known they wanted to go, but we simply didn’t feel comfortable with it. I’m having a drive by shower and my family have so much disinfecting stuff to try to keep things has safe as possible. I don’t go to parties at all. I went to church twice and sat in the back, but no more since a neighboring church has positives. I’d rather people think I’m rude over getting COVID.

It really depends on how the cases are in your area. If the cases are very very low, it’s going to be outside, and you are able to wear a mask and stay 6 feet apart, the risk is very low of you catching anything. Bring your own drink/food and if at any point you are there and it seems unsafe or you are uncomfortable then you can always leave saying you don’t feel good/need to lie down/exhaustion. Again, if you are in an area where cases are steady or increasing, I would not go.

I’ve not left the house since March except to go to hospital appointments and walk my dog, so no, I don’t think you’re being over cautious 😂 I’m lucky enough to be able to work from home and there’s no way I’m risking my baby’s health even if the risk is small

I wouldn’t go. I haven’t been the most careful person but I’ve washed my hands and see the same two people in their home. I trust them because they have health issues that could kill them if they got it. I also don’t go to parties and other outings. Only grocery shop. 
We were in the middle of moving during covid and were forced to store some things at my SIL home. My husband is supposed to go out and get the items on the 11th but she and her son were exposed to someone who tested positive. They got tested and it came back negative but I’ve heard stories that you can test positive days later. She still wants us to come out and get our things but I have a bad feeling about it. Tempted to ask her to wait till after my baby is here. If not I guess she can keep it or throw it away(and she would🙄)
