This is fucked up

I told my parents the other night that I’m getting really close with this guy (he is the sweetest thing in the world and treats me like an absolute queen). I’m 17 so I can make my own relationship decisions. My mother told me that she would rather me have a sexual, emotionaless, friends with benefits relationship going. Rather then a meaningful, long term relationship. Because she wants me to “marry someone with money” and that I better not get in a relationship because “we won’t know what he will do after school and whether he will be successful or not”. And I think that’s pretty fucked up.
