She works at a family owned vape shop that also doubles as a coffee stand. I love visiting her at work, but their drinks just aren’t that good. I get one every now and then, and every time we hang out she always insists we go to her work to get drinks instead of the coffee stand I work at since it’s “corporate owned” and “I’m not at risk of losing my job of business is slow that day”. Her coworkers bash on the place I work at all the time, and they claim their drinks are better (they’re really not). You can just tell with the training they have no idea what they’re doing. Drinks are under flavored, and sanitation is all wrong. They dip their hands in the drinks with test cups to make sure it tastes right before they send it out.

She also works under the table. Due to the pandemic they had to let her go, but she gets called in whenever they need her to work, and gets paid that same day. Shes not on the schedule, and her boss refuses to let her file for unemployment.

The whole situation just sounds illegal and stressful, so everyone around her has been trying to get her to find an actual job that pays her.
