Fibro mamas please!!!

Anyone else out there with Fibromyalgia, particularly those with natural birthing experience? I have all intentions of attempting a natural birth at a birthing center, assuming there are no complications that counter-indicate that. I have read hundreds of stories of moms who have done it and are thrilled, but I never see any with Fibromyalgia. I know the midwives I'm going to see have experience with this, so I'm very excited to talk to them more in depth about it, but in the meantime, I'm looking to gather more info. As FM often intensifies pain sensations exponentially (estimated 8xs the average person, for you non-FMers out there), it is cause for alarm. However, I also find that, like many with my disease, I have an extraordinarily high tolerance for most other types of pain that others find unbearable, like shattering my leg in the middle of the night & crawling home, then waiting hours for surgery without so much as a Tylenol granted me for fear of complications. I handled that like a champ. I figure, since I have been in excruciating pain every day of my life for over 20 years, always with zero purpose, satisfaction, or end in sight, that my pain experience can only benefit me, not make it harder. I am specifically looking for feedback on labor sensations & coping mechanisms from moms with Fibromyalgia. Any suggestions you have, methods, books, videos, blogs you love, or just general feelings, please share.

As added personal info, I tend to respond very poorly to outside interventions of any kind- medications & surgeries for sure. The best pain relief I have ever experienced was through meditation and relaxation- no narcotic has ever worked right on me. These weighed heavily into my decision to aim for midwife-assisted, natural childbirth in a calm, controlled setting, surrounded only by people I know and trust, as stress & fear cause me immediate & instant pain.
