Does your baby (3 mo or older) fall asleep independently or by rocking?

If independent, how did you do it?! I’m struggling TOUGH to transition my baby out of the swaddle (almost 4 mo) and I rock him to sleep but the second he hits the crib he startles and wakes up because he’s not swaddled.

I rocked my baby to sleep because it was so fast. At one point around 10-11 months she didn't want it anymore and didn't fall asleep until I put her to bed.
I miss the rocking so much. It was so precious. I'll do it if I get another baby later. No doubt about it.

My youngest has finally figured out independently falling asleep at 17m 😑😴 we've been nursing to sleep

Never used a swaddle, always every since time since birth i put him down in his pack and play to sleep except when baby wearing and so that’s just how he does it. He never fussed or cried, still doesn’t at almost 5m. My first baby I did all baby wearing or holding naps and my second was almost all baby wearing naps. So with my third I just couldn’t as I had too much to do so it didn’t happen. It was unintentional.

For the first bit of sleep at night I need to rock her but after she's had food a couple of times in the night she puts herself back to sleep. She needs rocking for all naps though. She's 3 months

I used to rock my youngest to sleep. When he made 3 months he started screaming when I tried rocking him so I laid him in his bed and he went straight to sleep. That’s how it’s been since and he’s 15 months.

Depends on how tired she is. If she’s super tired I just have to lay her on my chest and put her blanket on her and she falls right asleep (she naps on me but if I were to put her in her crib she’d be fine). And then at night she nurses to sleep. Then I swaddle her and she wakes up a little bit but 98% of the times she quietly lays in her crib til she falls asleep again.

We used to rock to sleep. We sleep trained using a combo of ALL the methods. Never got to the CIO part of trying. He slept independently after 2-3 nights of training. Still working on getting him to link naps though.

Put babies hands under their booty and pat the belly. 
Once baby is asleep, in a deep sleep move hands.
