Nemo update: what a bummer

It’s been a few days since I checked on the momma hen (I think?) because I got violently ill from a migraine lmfao.

I went and checked on the Nemo egg and the hen had kicked it out of the nest. They only do that when they sense something is wrong.

I candled it and saw a blood ring. Blood rings occur when the embryo dies and the blood settles into a ring around it.

So I opened it up, an Nemo looked all deformed. I definitely chose the right name for it. But nature decided it was best off not being alive. It died naturally under the hen🤷‍♀️ but If you saw my update, momma hen still has a viable embryo under her that’s starting to move around in the egg.

The other eggs are like... I straight up have no idea because the shells are so dark.

With darker shells you can’t tell if they have a baby in them until the baby is big and you can see some stronger movement.

So maybe Nemo 2.0 has friends. Can’t tell.

If these eggs dont hatch, I have a game farm I can purchase fertile eggs from. And a rooster is coming to us but it’s way more fun buying fertile eggs.
