Cloth diapers ?

Who has experience with these? I am considering it because diapers are so expensive. My baby will be 1 years old next month.

I used to work at a preschool and didn’t like them because they had a funny smell. Some mothers took them to a special place and found those didn’t smell, but I would imagine that’s more expensive

I know you have to buy a lot of diapers but I don’t want to invest just to find out it’s a lot of work and waste the money
