My August Baby 💕😍🥰

Laura • Mom of two boys 👦🏻👦🏼 Baby Braxton White born on 08/01/2020 🍼 Step mommy of one beautiful little girl👧 👑🦄

On July 30th I had my membranes swept to help start my labor. I thought that was going to be painful but it wasn’t to bad. I went in that night because I thought it was time unfortunately it wasn’t even after the hospital had me go for an hour walk on the labor and delivery floor. I left being dilated to a 3 and 50% effaced. The next day I went for a walk with my aunt to try and get labor started since I was in so much pain to be intimate with my boyfriend.

The morning of August 1st at 5:08am I message my mom and told her I was hurting. The contractions I felt were so much stronger than the ones I’ve been feeling for weeks. I couldn’t go back to sleep. My mom went to get coffee really quick because I told her to and she offered to get me one and I told her no so she got me an ice water and I wouldn’t even touch it. After that we were headed off to the hospital. When we arrived at the hospital I got checked in and wheeled up to the L&D which is on the fourth floor. They weighed me and took me to my room which was absolutely huge and a very beautiful room (wish I got pictures of it) I was fully checked in, in my room, hooked up to the monitors by 6:15am the nurse told me that she would check me and then we will see what would happen next about 6:30 I told my mom I know I didn’t pee the bed. My water started to trickle which felt weird for me because I’ve had a gush with my oldest, my middle I felt it pop it was so uncomfortable and awkward feeling. The nurse came back in and I told her and she said they would run a test to see if my water broke. I kid you not they took two of these and told me that it came back negative and that I was being sent home. As the nurse was talking to me I told her it was happening again the nurse looked and then seen a trickle then told me she would be back. She came back and said we are keeping and Congratulations mama your having your baby today. Around close to 8am if I can remember correctly I was getting my first ever epidural. My mom was so supportive of me and held my hand while getting it because I was so scared of the needle. I was literally in tear by then. The guy who gave me my epidural was the sweetest person ever and talked me thought it which made it easier. Through out the day I was hungry but you can’t eat when your in labor sadly. About 4:30 or 4:40 the nurse was checking me and wanted to see if I was dilating more and all of a sudden I had a big gush of water my water officially broke by then I was already in the hospital for over 10 hours still awaiting the arrive of my baby. I forgot to mention I had to have Pitocin to help me dilate and get my labor started which was started after my epidural kicked in. About 6:15 the doctor came in and said I was ready to have my baby. At 6:24 my sweet baby boy was born.

Braxton weighed 7lbs 9oz and 19 1/2 inches long.
