my partner and I have been together 6 yrs. I have 3 kids from previous relationships and we have one together. We have been living together for 5.5 years.

Should we both as adults pay equally for things in the household such as rent , food, bills, clothes for children etc or should it be split on a child ratio Me 3/4 and him 1? Or him 2 counting himself? I believe we should pay equally. He thinks I should pay for my kids and he should only contribute to his share of food rent and life. Currently I pay rent food and all extras like birthdays parties school expenses and all the things they need in general. He pays for our leisure things. Cigarettes and takeaway when we have it. I asked him contribute more when our daughter was born as I stopped working so our finances changed. Anytime I ask for him to give me money, he starts a fight and I just let it go. Well Ive had enough and feel taken advantage of. His savings continues to grow while I ask for him to give me money towards the rising cost of the family. Keeping in mind the kids were 1,3,6 when we met and now they are 2, 6,9,11 so they cost more in food and life naturally being older.... Please help any advice welcome, I'm sick of it starting arguments and nothing changing ....
