Hates bassinet..am I the only one?

Question

Why does my three week old sleep perfectly still and content in either mine or my husbands arms but absolutely HATES her bassinet? Husband and I have been doing shifts for over two weeks now so we can each get rest because she refuses to sleep anywhere but our arms but he’s going back to work next week and I’m not going to stay sane not sleeping at night and being alone to take care of baby girl all day too. Has anybody else had a baby with this problem? We will not co sleep because I just don’t feel comfortable at all with it and it isn’t worth the risk to us. Also she can’t be swaddled because she can roll over already. We already do white noise and have been trying to implement a bedtime routine with bath, sleepy lotion, jammies and bedtime feeding but it hasn’t helped so far. The night that she was born she was able to roll from side to side and now she’s gotten to her stomach a few times. Pretty sure that’s not normally too and she’s abnormally strong 😅 all advice welcome

Yup ours was the same until about 6 weeks. I was very anti bed sharing too but it worked for us and I will do it again with my 2nd baby. Unfortunately youre not going to have much if a choice, you can't stay awake 24 hours a day.

My son. We have gone through 2 bassinets now 😭 He'll sleep in his crib, until he stirs and realizes we aren't in the room and then he panics. We've currently been bed sharing, which I've always been adamantly against, but it's the only way we are getting sleep. 🤦🏻‍♀️ We are trying to transition him to his crib but it's a process for sure.

Have you tried putting her down to bed on her tummy, unswaddled? You can also put a T-shirt that smells like you in the bassinet and warm it up using a heating pad and removing it before you lay her down! This worked for us when our son went through this stage. It’s very normal. This is around the time we started co sleeping and it was what we needed. And now he’s 10 months old and has been in his crib since he was 4.5 months old. 
Cosleeping is not for everyone, and I was 100% against it in the beginning myself. But once I learned about the biology behind it and how to safely do it, it was beautiful! Do some research and educate yourself on all the pros of cosleeping and that way if you do end up doing that, you’re doing it safely 🙂 Hope this helps!

It’s because you guys are her safe space. She can still be swaddled even if rolling. It’s when they are consistently doing it that you need to worry. The bassinet is probably too much of an open space for her.
